Venturer Scouts
Venturer Scouts
Venturer Scouts is a do-it-yourself mix of fun, adventure and personal challenge that brings together like-minded young people (male and female) aged 14 to 17 from all walks of life. When you’re dealing with your toughest years in school and making decisions about your future, Venturer Scouts offers vital breathing space. You can focus on friendship and personal growth, while picking up valuable life skills along the way.
As a Venturer Scout, you may find yourself exploring wilderness Australia, camping above the snowline or diving on coral reefs. You could be abseiling into a limestone cave or climbing a sheer rock face. Perhaps you’ll learn white water kayaking or ride your mountain bike on an expedition across real mountains.
Whatever your challenge, there will be trained and highly experienced adults to guide you through the experience, to teach you the necessary skills and safety techniques. Venturer Scouts get the opportunity to travel overseas and to organised activities, to live with a different community and to provide service to others.
You don’t need to have any previous Scouting experience. We’ll help you catch up.

Friendship
At Venturer Scouts you’ll get to know a great bunch of people your age, without the pressure of school. Venturer Scouts are very social, but challenging too – you’ll learn a lot about yourself and others.
You might even get the chance to travel to another part of Australia or even another part of the world. The Venturer Scout section holds Australian Ventures every three years, but in between are huge state events. These are amazing events where hundreds of Venturer Scouts come together to camp, do challenging and fun activities like diving, abseiling, exploring and often lots of water activities. Venturer Scouts can even travel to Jamborees and Ventures all over the world.
You’ll be surprised at how many great friendships you’ll make.
Families are welcome to get involved too! There’s lots of opportunities for the whole family to make new friends and feel part of the community.
